The Department of Otolaryngology is an ENT practice within an academic healthcare setting. The department leadership team uses patient-satisfaction survey comments to identify process improvement areas within the clinic. One area that we routinely receive comments is the staff and patient interaction. We used those comments to help educate the staff on how their attitudes and body language during those interactions shape the entire patient experience. Webinar Learning Objectives • Discuss how communication with patients extends beyond verbal communication • Discuss consideration for interacting with patients with patients with hearing impairment, language barriers, or different age groups • Provide tips on how leaders can use patient feedback as a training tool
