The American Medical Association (AMA) has released the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) 2027 code set, introducing some of the most sweeping structural transformations seen in years. Effective January 1, 2027, legacy codes for core services are being completely deleted and replaced by highly granular, complexity-based, and time-based coding systems. To protect your practice’s revenue cycle and ensure compliance, providers, billers, and coders must proactively adapt to these foundational shifts.
This intensive webinar delivers a comprehensive breakdown of the major 2027 CPT revisions across five key specialties: Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), Audiology, Otolaryngology (ENT), and Sleep Medicine. Attendees will learn about the high-stakes deletion of individual speech therapy code 92507 and its replacement with 10 new time-based codes tailored to specific disorder areas. We will also dissect the total overhaul of home sleep studies into a new six-code complexity-tiered family, examine the newly introduced specialized codes for Video Head Impulse Testing (vHIT) and rotational vestibular assessments, and analyze critical regulatory pressures, such as the proposed 50% payment reduction for Modifier 25 on same-day E/M visits in ENT settings.
Key Learning Objectives:
- Master the New SLP Framework: Navigate the shift from untimed individual treatment to the 10 new time-based, disorder-specific CPT codes (fluency, voice, language, articulation, and cognitive communication).
- Deconstruct Sleep Medicine Updates: Understand the new six-code, complexity-tiered matrix replacing legacy unattended sleep study codes (95800, 95801, 95806).
- Implement New Audiology & Vestibular Codes: Properly apply new coding for vHIT (92513, 92514) and rotational testing (92527, 92528) to capture objective diagnostic data accurately.
- Mitigate ENT Compliance Risks: Prepare workflows to defend documentation and reimbursement margins against proposed CMS policy shifts, including Modifier 25 cuts.
