Businesses today require interdependent teams and collaboration, which means that a culture of accountability is crucial. However, accountability is often lacking, which causes inferior performance: missed deadlines, lower quality of work, lack of vision, poor follow-through, and poor execution. Managers must start holding their employees accountable and increase their own accountability. However, many don’t know how or are reluctant to do so. You can’t force people to be accountable! When the work environment is designed for accountability, it will flourish.
