I want to welcome each of you to the COPM web page personally. It’s an exciting time for healthcare as we continue to grow and adapt, always remaining motivated and eager to learn. Our organization is confronting many changes, and we’re meeting these changes during a more significant national and global change. The world of healthcare is an exciting area to work/study/play, and we’ll continue to meet and bring inspired people together in forums like this to ensure ASCENT remains progressive.

The COPM Advisory Board’s vision is to have all practice management staff and corporate employees involved in ENT practice achieve and maintain certification. The Board encourages members to complete this journey! We believe the COPM credential demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning and will increase your value to your stakeholders. Many of us who are certified have fulfilled personal satisfaction and intellectual stimulation.

We have built a vital infrastructure, which includes many resources, to assist you during the process - from registration to taking the examination. Online study groups, resource manuals, engaged board members, and responsive central office staff will assist you while you prepare for examination day.

As an organization leader, you have the vision, the knowledge, the wherewithal, and the experience to help ENT professionals pave the way into the future. You are our greatest asset today and tomorrow, and we could not accomplish what we do without your support and leadership. We hope you take the journey to become a COPM this year!

STEPS TO OBTAIN YOUR COPM

1. Complete and submit your online application. The fee to apply is $25. Once your application is approved, or if we need additional information, the office will contact you (within 7 business days).    
   
2. Prepare for the Exam. We recommend that you:
   • Purchase the Resource Manual and Study Notes.
   • Join the online COPM Study Group within engagemENT.
   • Take the FREE Self-Assessment Exam to evaluate your readiness. You can use this practice exam multiple times.
3. Register for the Exam.
   • Go to the ASCENT Store to register and we'll contact you (during regular business hours) with the online code you'll need to take the exam - using your computer - at a time convenient for you. Please allow up to 3 business days for us to email you your test code.
4. You're allotted four hours to take the 150 multiple-choice question exam. You must answer 106 questions correctly to pass. Good luck!

The COPM Advisory Board is the sole organizing body whose responsibility is to develop, implement and monitor the COPM program. The COPM Advisory Board is composed of leaders in the field who hold the COPM designation, and the board is approved by the ASCENT Executive Committee.
